# Image to Video Ads

> Turn a product photo into a video ad in Clip Studio Video Lab. Image-to-video ads animate your still as the start frame, not a faceless stock montage.

## What it is

Image-to-video ads start from a still you already have — a packshot, product photo, or campaign frame — and Video Lab animates it as the start frame. That is original motion from your image, not Topic Shorts faceless stock. Describe the camera and action, generate, and download the clip for paid social or organic.

## How it works

### Open Video Lab

Go to Video Lab and upload the product photo or still that should open the ad.

### Describe the motion

Write the camera move, product action, and any on-shot audio you want generated with the clip.

### Generate image-to-video

Animate the start frame with the selected model. Add a last frame or references only when that model supports them.

### Download the ad clip

Save the MP4 from your library and upload it to the ad platform. Clip Studio does not place the media for you.

## Benefits

- **Your still is the start frame.** Every Video Lab model can animate a starting image. The ad begins on your product photo instead of generated stock or a blank text-to-video scene.
- **Directed motion, not a montage.** Prompt the camera move, lighting, and action around that still. This is not a faceless stock edit laid over a voiceover.
- **First-to-last and references on supported models.** When the model allows it, add an end frame or reference images in the same Video Lab workspace. Skip those controls when the model only animates a start image.
- **Sized for ads you actually run.** Pick an aspect ratio the selected model supports — typically 9:16 for Reels and Shorts, 1:1 for feed, or 16:9 for landscape — then download the MP4.

## Formats

- 9:16 vertical
- 1:1 square
- 16:9 landscape
- 3:4 portrait

## FAQs

### How are image-to-video ads different from faceless video?

Image-to-video ads in Video Lab animate your still as the start frame. Faceless Topic Shorts assemble copyright-free stock, voiceover, and captions from a topic — they do not animate your product photo.

### Do I have to generate an AI image first?

No. Upload the product photo or campaign still you already have. Video Lab can also start from text if you do not have a still; this use case is the image-to-video path.

### Can every model take a last frame or reference pack?

No. Every Video Lab model can animate a starting image. First-to-last and multi-image references are model-specific — use those controls only when the selected model lists them.
