A Topic Short is usually ready in about five minutes; Video Lab and the other studios depend on the model and length. You can leave the page while it renders: the result lands in your library and you get a link when it is ready.

Topic Shorts narrate in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, and Hindi: the script is written in that language, the voiceover is read in that language, and the captions follow it, including Hindi in Devanagari script. Character Films, Talking Shorts, and Ad Studio are English only.

Type a topic and Clip Studio plans a hook, setup, reveal, and payoff, matches stock footage to each line, adds a voiceover and burned-in captions, and renders a faceless short for TikTok, Reels, or Shorts. You can review the story before generating, paste a link or article to ground the script, and frame it 9:16, 16:9, or 1:1. Shorts run from 15 seconds up to three minutes, 30 seconds by default.

There are ten formats: Mini documentary, Myth check, Story with a twist, How it works, Top 5, Quiz, Scary story, History POV, Post story, and What if. Captions come in six looks — Spotlight (the default), Impact, Highlighter, Editorial, Boxed, and Kicker — or Off. Transitions are Dynamic (the default), Classic, or Off. None of these choices changes what the short uses from your allowance.

Yes. On the finished short you can switch the caption look or turn captions off, swap or remove the music, and swap a shot for free. Each change saves a new version and you can go back to an earlier one. Re-voicing a line is quoted first, like any job. Every short also comes with a title, caption, and hashtags, a cover frame, and extra downloads without music, without captions, or as SRT and VTT subtitles.

Character Films turn a topic into a narrated animated film. Pick one of 50 narrators, each with their own look and voice, type a topic, and Clip Studio writes the script, draws the narrator, records the voice, animates the shots, and cuts the film. Generate the opening first, then continue the rest of the film whenever you like. Each part is quoted before it runs.

Paste a story or script. Clip Studio plans cinematic shots, keeps the characters and visual theme consistent, adds AI narration and captions, and renders a multi-shot film part in 9:16, 16:9, or 1:1. The story bible and cast are saved on the project, so you can come back and continue the next part.

Video Lab is one workspace for text-to-video and image-to-video across 32 frontier models, including Edit clip. Choose a model, add a prompt or a still, see the quote, and generate. Every plan opens every Video Lab model.

Image Lab generates stills across 23 image models. Write a prompt, pick a model and aspect ratio, and generate. Most models also edit a source still you attach, and Ideogram Vector saves an editable SVG. Every still lands in your library.

Audio Lab makes downloadable audio three ways: narration from your script in one of 12 named Clip Studio voices or a Gemini voice, a music track from a description (with your own lyrics or instrumental) on Lyria 3.5 or MiniMax Music 3, or a sound effect from 3 to 30 seconds on Mirelo SFX 2.0.

Paint Lab is a canvas in your browser with brushes, layers, selections, and pen pressure. When you want AI help, use Finish sketch, Edit with words, Generative fill, Colorize line art, Upscale, Remove background, Split into layers, Expand canvas, or Remove object. Every AI result lands on a new layer, so nothing you drew is overwritten. You can also train your own style from 8 to 20 of your drawings.

Yes. Animate it sends your flattened painting to Video Lab as the first frame of an image-to-video clip. Video Lab quotes the clip before anything renders, and your canvas stays open.

Talking Shorts turn a product URL or a one-line brief into a vertical talking-head ad. Clip Studio writes three angles, you pick a face and a voice, and it renders the talking head, a product cutaway, and captions. You never film or book a creator.

Ad Studio turns a product into a UGC-style ad. Add a product URL or brief, pick how the ad opens (Problem, Curiosity, Trust, or Niche), edit a five-beat script, choose a creator, and generate one vertical clip you can download, copy the script from, or share.

Director (live video you steer mid-stream), Last Frame (a playable generated film), and Ad Lab (on-brand ad stills and packs) still run, but new accounts do not see them at first. They appear in the generate menu after your first finished generation. Their product pages stay open to read.

Plans are Clip Pro at $19, Studio Elite at $39, and Studio Scale at $99 a month. Accounts that have never subscribed get their first month of Clip Pro for $9, then $19 a month. Annual billing costs about 20% less. Checkout runs on Stripe in US dollars.

Every plan is one monthly generation allowance you spend in any studio. Clip Pro covers about 14 thirty-second Topic Shorts or 1 one-minute Character Film a month, or any mix across studios. Studio Elite holds 2.4× that (about 35 shorts) and Studio Scale 6× (about 88). Annual plans carry the same monthly allowance for about 20% less. Every job is quoted before it runs, and actual use varies by model and length.

Every setup is quoted before it runs, and what you have left this month is always on screen. Nothing generates until you press Generate. What a job uses depends on the studio, model, length, and resolution. If a job fails, what it used comes back.

Yes. Brushes, layers, selections, and PNG or PSD export cost nothing, and every account gets its first AI action free. After that, AI actions in Paint Lab use your monthly generation allowance, and each one is quoted before it runs.

Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from your billing settings. Pay by card, or with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link where your device supports them.

Yes. Add https://clipstudio.ai/api/mcp as a remote MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Grok. The first call opens Clip Studio sign-in, then one Approve. You do not paste an API key. The agent can make Topic Shorts, Character Films, Story parts, Video Lab clips, Image Lab stills, Audio Lab audio, Paint Lab results, Talking Shorts, and Ad Studio ads, and read your library.

No. An agent works as your signed-in account on the same plan and monthly allowance as the website. Paid jobs are quoted first, and if this month’s allowance is short, the agent can hand you a Stripe Checkout link. It never takes card details.
