Panel 1 of a 4-panel comedy story. Stylized 3D animated feature-film look: soft subsurface skin, big expressive eyes, warm cinematic lighting, shallow depth of field. Characters: MARCO, a broad-shouldered man in his 30s with short black curly hair, a thick black beard, olive green t-shirt and grey sweatpants; LENA, a woman in her 30s with long wavy auburn hair in a messy bun, freckles, an oversized cream knit sweater. Setting: small city apartment bedroom, beige walls, wooden floor, one warm bedside lamp. Scene: 2:47 AM on a glowing digital alarm clock. Marco sits cross-legged on the floor surrounded by flat-pack white wardrobe boards, a sea of screws and wooden dowels, and an open wordless assembly manual with cartoon diagrams. He holds an Allen key between his teeth, hair messy, eyes hollow and exhausted, sweat on his forehead. Lena is asleep in the bed behind him, out of focus. No text other than the clock time, no logos.
